Snowmobile rental
Each Afra Arctic cabin has its own Lynx 59 Ranger snowmobile, available for guests to rent during their stay. Advance booking is recommended.

Meet the reindeer
Reindeer live close to us, and we can arrange a local visit where you can meet them and experience this special part of Lapland. Ask us in advance and we’ll be happy to arrange the visit for you. If you are looking specifically for a reindeer sleigh ride or a longer reindeer experience, you can explore the options available in the Sodankylä area through Visit Sodankylä-Sompio.
Cross-country skiing
A cross-country ski trail runs close to the cabins, making it easy to head out directly from your stay and explore the snowy surroundings. Bring your own skis or ask us in advance about rental options and current availability.
Husky Experience
Meet energetic huskies and experience one of the most exciting traditions of a Lapland winter. Different husky experiences and sled rides are available in the Sodankylä area for visitors. Shore fishing
Enjoy a relaxed fishing experience surrounded by the nature of Lapland. A great option for beginners, families or anyone who simply wants to spend a few hours by the water. Our experienced local guide will adapt the trip to you. Contact us in advance to arrange your fishing experience.
Hiking & exploring
Discover the landscapes around Afra Arctic on foot. There are several interesting places and routes within easy reach of the cabins, from shorter walks to longer outdoor adventures. Ask us when you arrive and we’ll help you choose where to go and provide practical information for your trip.
Boat fishing
Head out on the water for a more adventurous fishing experience aboard a spacious boat. The trip can be tailored for experienced anglers as well as guests looking for something more challenging. Berry picking
From late July through August, the forests around Afra Arctic are often full of wild berries. Head into the surrounding nature and pick blueberries, cloudberries and other seasonal berries straight from the forest. Ask us where to go and we’ll help you find good nearby picking areas.
